Are you a female entrepreneur struggling to find true success? For women entrepreneurs finding an effective business path can be a challenge. Here are ten ways to stack the deck in your favor...

The game has changed for women entrepreneurs. Here's how to stay on top of yours and reach success.

Women are making a mark everywhere, from Kathryn Minshew, CEO of The MUSE, to Morgan DeBaun, CEO of Blavity, they have proven their mettle. Even though there weren’t many female entrepreneurs even a few decades ago, the trend has changed. The number of women entrepreneurs in the US has increased over 30%. This makes up 36% of the business in the United States.

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor recently stated that the rate of increase of female entrepreneurship was 13%, which is a lot higher compared to that of men (5%).

In fact, it has been reported that 90% of female entrepreneurs anticipate either an increase or stability in their revenue in the following year. Moreover, the companies led by women entrepreneurs saw a 13% increase compared to those run by men.

It can often be difficult for women to make it as entrepreneurs.  In a male dominated business world they don’t find many women entrepreneurs to look up to.

If you’re struggling to get ahead in your industry, consider this article a guide - Below are ten things women entrepreneurs can do better...

Socialize With Positive And Like-minded Individuals

The most successful women entrepreneurs surround themselves with positive and successful people. Surrounding yourself with people who don’t tolerate negativity and whining will push you towards success. This can also help you get in the right mindset for productivity.

There are online and offline groups you can join for this purpose. These groups can motivate you and help you tap into your true potential.

Be Authentic And Original

Being authentic is what sets you apart from every other person.

In fact, if you want to lead, you will have to be authentic. You can’t steal someone else’s ideas because you’ll eventually fail because they are not your own.

Be confident and original. Be unique with your ideas and strategically brand yourself. You may want to take a look at fbabee to see what they've done. The company has created a niche in a very difficult industry.

Don't Fall For The Gender Baggage

Your success doesn’t have anything to do with your gender. It solely depends on you and you alone. Your determination.

If you have fears and weaknesses, then take steps to overcome them.  Find a business coach or accountability partner that will be sensitive to your business development.

Trust In Yourself And Take Risks

The dictionary definition of the word entrepreneur is: "A businessperson who takes risks."

An entrepreneur should know how to make a profit by taking risks. The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward. However, only take calculated risks, so any detriment is financially minimal.

A daily exercise - Ask yourself if you even really have what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Don’t expect others to believe in you if you don’t believe in yourself. Start believing in yourself, in your vision. Tell yourself that your product is good and that everyone would want to buy what you’re selling.

However, do not turn a blind eye to the real facts.

If your product is actually less than optimal then accept that. A good idea does not always translate in a good product. If your product is lacking, ask for feedback through surveys and your accountability partner to re-direct with better footing.

Be Firm And Confident With Your Decisions

You need to be confident in the decisions you make. Indecisiveness is your enemy. Be of strong heart and do not be afraid to make decisions. You will make many in your role as an entrepreneur, so get used to it.

In short, if you want to be successful then you have to accept the fact that every decision has advantages and disadvantages.

Learn From Your Mistakes And Experience

Many entrepreneurs don’t make it far because of their ego and pride hold them back. They don’t admit their mistakes and learn from them.

If you truly want to succeed you have to stop making excuses. Grow the habit to learn from your mistakes. In the business world, even a small mistake can be costly, so be quick in learning and improving. Fail fast ... learn fast.

It’s the willingness to improve that makes better leaders:

  • Look around yourself
  • Read case studies
  • Attend seminars
  • Gain information from wherever you can

It doesn’t matter what stage of life you are in; experience is of huge importance to you. It teaches you to deal with situations and handle yourself in difficult times.

Keep learning! The average CEO reads up to 60 books a year. Consider reading books about business and leadership. If, however, reading isn’t your thing you can also try audio books, online classes or webinars.

Dream Big

Sometimes women underestimate their own skills and hesitate to dream big. However, for successful women entrepreneurs it is important to challenge yourself and think about the legacy you want to leave behind.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia, said, "The size of your dreams must always exceed your current capacity to achieve them. If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough."

Get Feedback

Getting feedback can be extremely helpful as it can help you understand what your customers want. Consider researching about your customers’ needs and develop products or services that meet those needs.

You should receive feedback at every stage. However, remember that not all feedback will be valuable.

Remind Yourself Why You Got Into This

Being an entrepreneur can be stressful and you often forget the reason why you started your business. Especially in challenging times, keep reminding yourself why. Search out sources of inspiration and motivation.

Final Words For Women Entrepreneurs

Follow these simple tips and you will have no trouble in finding success as a woman entrepreneur.
