Medical And Health Services Manager is now a coveted career position. Professional men and working women interested in the healthcare profession will find it lucrative, if prepared with the right education...
Becoming A Medical And Health Services Manager May Be A Good Career Option For Today's Working Women
If you want to take your career to a productive level, then consider becoming a Medical and Health Services Manager. Keeping in mind today's positive jobs numbers, and where the percentage of where working women's openings are, work in the field of medicine and health care would be wise. And potentially lucrative - starting on a fresh journey, or as a mid-life career shift.
Think about it: You would put yourself in a real position of leadership. But with such power, comes a lot of responsibility. It’d be up to you to manage whole medical facilities, clinics, and departments, and it’d be your responsibility to guide and maintain a group of physicians.
Yes, it is a lot of hard work, and it’s important work. But somebody amazing is going to do it. Why shouldn't that amazing individual be you?
Below is insight on becoming a Medical and Health Services Manager. We just have one question you will need to answer. Working women: Is a career change in healthcare right for you?
(Ooops - While many of our readers are women, men are invited to read along too!) :)
Seek Education
If you want to be an MH Services Manager, then you need to be seeking education and getting the necessary degree(s). If you have a bachelor's degree, you are on your way. However, if you do your research, you will find that many probable employers will require a Master's Degree.
Good graduate programs, such as the Boston College MHA, last an average of three years, and most of the time include a further year of supervised administrate experience in a healthcare setting before a degree is awarded. In the courses, you would be learning everything from medical terminology to how to organize a hospital, and how to account and budget for medical equipment.
Get Work Experience
As stated, most higher education institutions will not award degrees until one year of administrative experience is sought. However, this shouldn’t be the only experience that you seek.
If you want to even be considered for an MH Services Manager role, then you need to prove your knowledge of the service you seek to manage, which means getting actual experience in it. For example, if you want to become a Nursing Home Administrator, then you would ensure that you have experience working as a registered nurse, and you would know what they do.
This does mean getting another degree and working even harder to get to where you want to be in life. but the result will be a high-earning position and smart steps toward your career goals.
Work On Your Personal Qualities
You can’t just step into an MH Services Manager position without having the right qualities to handle the work. If this means coaching to change your own personal qualities, then should not have any qualms doing so.
For this position, you need to be analytical, for instance, so that you know when to adapt to certain practices and how to maneuver when legal counsel is required. You must also have good communication skills so that you can relate policies and procedures to staff to ensure that they comply with any new regulations. Optimally, you should be an astute leader, as many people will be turning to you for help and advice.
Working Women (And Men)...
Becoming a Medical and Health Services Manager is like reaching the pinnacle of the healthcare profession. Like anything else, you have to work hard to get there.
Of all the working women's issues, feel confident to invest in yourself - Education always pays for itself.

Depending on the type of organization or facility, the medical and health services manager might not work the typical nine-to-five schedule. But Really want to achive personal life goals how to do that?

Elizabeth, To answer your question, I would show them examples – people – that endured and achieved their dream. It would probably also be helpful to show them salary now and salary post graduation (which would be increased). I’ve also found study groups and support groups sources of inspiration and motivation. Thank you for your question! ~Keri
